In June 2017, the Georgetown Hospital Foundation launched a $1.5M campaign to acquire leading-edge digital equipment for the X-ray suite at Georgetown Hospital. Project X will fund:
- 2 digital X-ray machines
- 2 portable X-ray machines
- 1 mini C-arm unit
- Renovations to X-ray suite
These X-ray equipment purchases will update the equipment and technology offered at Georgetown Hospital, eliminating the extra steps formerly required to process high-quality images. With this new equipment, radiologists can view and assess X-ray images immediately and remotely from a secure storage system. This is a win-win for both staff and patients, as it expedites diagnoses and reduces wait times.

Urgent Equipment Appeal
Each year, Georgetown Hospital staff and physicians sit down with hospital leadership and craft a prioritized list of equipment needed for our hospital. Some of these items are replacements for existing pieces that have reached the end of their lifespan, and others are brand-new to Georgetown Hospital, updating our technology and expanding our service offerings.
It is the Foundation’s role to raise the funds needed to purchase the items deemed most critical to the hospital. This year’s list includes:
- Obstetrical birthing bed
- Ultrasound transducer
- Bedside spirometer
- Diagnostic hysteroscope
- Fetal telemetry monitoring system
